Jahrhundert die wundervolle Wirkung von Kaffee f\u00fcr sich entdeckte, war einer popul\u00e4ren indischen \u00dcberlieferung zufolge, der Sufi Baba Budan. Auf einer Pilgerreise nach Mekka kommt er mit unserem Lieblingsgetr\u00e4nk in Kontakt und fasst einen f\u00fcr die indische Kaffeegeschichte wesentlichen Entschluss. In seinem dichten Bart versteckt, schmuggelte er sieben gr\u00fcne Kaffeebohnen aus der jemenitischen Hafenstadt in seine s\u00fcdindische Heimat. Dort setzte er die Bohnen an den H\u00e4ngen der Chandragiri-H\u00fcgel (im heutigen Karnataka) und legte so den Grundstein f\u00fcr die indische Kaffeekultur. M\u00f6glicherweise wird er deshalb sowohl von Hindus als auch von Moslems als Heiliger verehrt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tats\u00e4chlich stammt die erste Erw\u00e4hnung von Kaffee ann\u00e4hernd aus dieser Zeit. Im Jahre 1616 berichtet Edward Terry (der Kaplan von Sir Thomas Roe, dem Botschafter am Hof \u200b\u200bvon Kaiser Jehangir) detailliert \u00fcber einen mehr gesunden als angenehmen Lik\u00f6r, den die Inder aus einem in Wasser gekochten schwarzen Samen herstellen und Kaffee nennen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Das in S\u00fcdindien als Kaapi bekannte Getr\u00e4nk, erh\u00e4lt seinen Namen von der s\u00fcdindischen phonetischen Wiedergabe von &#8222;Kaffee&#8220;.  Der s\u00fcdindische Filterkaffee hat viele Namen. Oftmals wird er auch als Madras Filterkaffee, Madras Kaapi, Kumbakonam Degree Coffee, Mylapore Filterkaffee oder Mysore Filterkaffee bezeichnet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wir haben zwei Adaptierungen zum Original vorgenommen. Aus Ermangelung des typischen s\u00fcdindischen Kaffeebereiters haben wir den <a href=\"\/de\/kaffeezubereitung\/cold-brew\/drop-dripper.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hario Drop Water Dripper<\/a> verwendet.
